v0.10.5.x Masternode Payments Testing (RC2)

since I only have one Linux running that can run the test wallet, I need to know if I can send funds while the masternode is running or if I should turn it off to do darksends? I'm assuming we want to be doing all 3 things, run masternodes, mine and send via darksend?
 
tried setting up a masternode, but no good. t1.micro free tier seems only to have ubuntu 14.04.
Followed chaeplin's tutorial to the letter, but some stuff does not work, probably because of different distro? (edit vs nano for example, compiled ok but doesn't run, etc) - I think I really do have all the dependancies necessary, and fully updated and upgraded.

Also, following the tutorial is might confusing to newcomer as its for a main net RC1, and involves setting up Beta and upgrading to RC1

I suggest (if wonderful mr.chaeplin has the time, or some other fine gentleman) the 3 part tutorial be re-done for RC2 and 14.04. Not only do I want to help out in the beta, I also want/need to get comfortable with managing a masternode before it goes live.

I know an AMI is sure to follow, but I'd really like to take the chance at doing it manually so I get a better grasp on the concepts. I unfortunately spammed the IRC all day to no avail ... don't to be no noob spammer! :eek:
 
Evan, is only the MasterNode that did the mixing paid? Or are all masternodes paid a percentage of the available coins mined? If only the MasterNode that actually did the work is paid, is there a reason for that? I just see it as a deterrent for people to run one, 'cause what if they're never chosen. That's a big risk to put up the collateral for a MN and never participate in payments.

Anyway, its been a while and the coins have not arrived, getmininginfo shows its sync'ing veeeeery slowly.

What version of darkcoind are you on? I'm on the following:

"version" : 100600,
"protocolversion" : 70014,

I've got extra testnet coin for 100500 and 100600.

wait, i do have this info he emailed me. Maybe you know which version based on our testnet address? Here is what he emailed:

We got the coins just fine, but client will not send coins. I am getting the server logs to see what's wrong. Per my developer: (he was also wondering if we should be using RC1 maybe)

good news: we have testcoins on our balance:

New testnet started. delete ~/.darkcoin/testnet3

delete ~/.darkcoin/testnet3 (including wallet.dat)
