v0.10.12.x RC4 Testing

I'm concerned about restarting the blockchain. Why did we have to do that? The reason isn't because I'm rich with over 300,000 testnet dark, LOL. But seriously, because you miss the opportunity of working with an existing blockchain. If there were any issues in starting this new version with an existing blockchain, we could have possibly caught it?

I am also concerned. I cannot get version v0.10.11.5-unk-beta to sync with new chain.

At least it does mean that the test blockchain was restarted at Block 0 - if a hard fork on mainnet is required needs to be confirmed by Evan. My guess is: The CheckBlock() method in RC4 is incompatible to RC3 --> hard fork. But just guessing...

I think RC4 testnet is incompatible with prior RC3.

I'm having a problem, Ubuntu 64 bit 14.04, in my darkcoin.conf file I just have testnet=1 but I don't create a testnet file. Any help?

flare I set my maxconnections=2 and add these 2 nodes, deleted my data folder and restarted. I get the same behaviour, it gets to block 18 then forks to the old chain.

I'm running 10.12.0-4 with testnet=1 in the darkcoin.conf file, but I don't create a testnet folder and getinfo says I'm on block 104--- thousand something. Should I put anything else in my conf file?

When using that, it should automatically create the testnet directory. You could wipe the old one out with

Thanks for answering, I actually cleaned everything out, deleted .darkcoin and after starting, made a new darkcoin.conf file, with rpcuser= and rpcpassword then testnet=1, that's it in the conf file, restarted and it's now downloading the main net blockchain. No testnet folder. Why do I always have a problem? Why can't I do anything correctly? LOL

I still need help, did I spell this wrong? testnet=1 ?

Nope, the problem was a really old block that wasn't getting accepted by CheckBlock (only on testnet)

I really wanted to help but despite putting testnet=1 in my conf file, I get testnet = false in darkcoind getinfo. I don't know what else to do and I have to go. It's weird I'm the only one with this problem again. I'm using an almost new installation of Ubuntu that has compiled the cpuminer on it, and all that entails and that's about it, so maybe I'm missing something? But I have to go, sorry I can't help. Can't even mine, no address to put it in. Oh well...

I kept trying anyway because I'm OCD and took off everything except testnet=1 in the config file, and though my wallet crashed, it did create a testnet3 folder. Then, I restarted it again, it crashed, and started it again, and finally, it shows as 8 hours behind and is loading, so I suspect I finally got into testnet 3. Not sure why this is happening, but if anyone else has this happen, please don't be shy, report it as it might be a glitch in the code.

And in case it matters, I was stuck on downloading at somewhere like block 34000 on mainnet
