    List of future development ideas

I think an update notification in the wallet would effectively represent a single-point-of-failure attack vector. Hack update server --> push hacked update to all clients --> take over network.

    Official logo vote

Please note: a vote for a logo represents a vote for all variations of that logo. Also, a coin image (similar to the existing one) will likely be made from the chosen logo. Option 10 has changed to the one submitted by Enzwell. Here's the list: 1. http://i.imgur.com/ZUadjPu.png 2...

These are really nice. I will add it to the poll.

    Proposed selection of logo candidates

THIS IS NOT THE VOTE. The actual vote will happen tomorrow. This thread is simply to make sure I haven't missed any popular logos to include in the vote. Here is the selection I've narrowed down, based on the discussion so far. Let me know if you think any others should be included. Also...

    Altoutlet.com

As cool as it is to have sites accepting DRK, I feel it's important to make this known: From a bit of digging, this site seems to be selling the exact same products that DealExtreme lists, but with a 90% markup. E.g...

What happens once I select the winning design? "Once you choose the winning design on your contest, you receive full copyright of the design files as well as professional design files (to allow you to print or alter in the future)." http://www.designcrowd.com/how-it-works

Logo designs (all) -- please view & discuss!

X-posted from bitcointalk: please consider that the logo is not for us -- it's for people who know absolutely nothing about Darkcoin and are encountering it for the first time. I should also raise the point that it's still an open question about how "dark" the logo should feel. There are a few...

Ha, I liked it. It was the only submission with a smiley face!

    Logo selection process

The designcrowd competition is ending its submission phase today, which means we have a further ~week to make a decision about who gets the prize. I can't wait to show you all the submissions we've got. Here's the selection process that we'll follow -- I'll create a thread for each of these...

    Italian subforum

A bitcointalk user has kindly translated the Darkcoin OP into Italian: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=555494.0 Could we add a subforum here for Italian speakers, and link to this translated OP? In fact we could mirror the localised subforums on bitcointalk, since I'm assuming they've...

    Logo discussion

I'll include ones from here & possibly some older stuff from the bitcointalk thread. Be aware that anything not posted to the designcrowd competition won't be in the running for the payout.

    Logo discussion

So, this is what I'm thinking for the selection process: Day 1. Post all the designs for people to look at & discuss. Day 2. Post a draft subset of these that I've narrowed down for the first vote (people can debate inclusions/exclusions). Day 3. Start of vote 1, which will be open for 48 hrs...

    What's your theory?

I don't see how an unofficial hardfork can be anything but bad for litecoin. Which makes me wonder about the motivations of the instigator.

    Address Distribution

Ok, so going by that data, one address mined a whole bunch (179k) before the block reward reduced to 50 at block 4500, and a whole bunch more addresses mined smaller amounts (< 15k each) to make up the 2M. Which, if we were to read between the lines, might suggest there were multiple individuals...

    Address Distribution

Shouldn't the mined column add up to roughtly 2M? Or are there a ton of addresses beyond these 15 that were mining in this period?

    Address Distribution

I'd love to have a play with that mysql dump. One thing you should probably change with your figures there is to restrict it to the period before the diff kicked in and block reward schedule changed (i.e. < block 4500). I did a similar kind of analysis, but it was more of a manual effort...

    Why does X11 run cooler?

The answer is that some kinds of processing are extremely easy to scale up on a GPU to 100% utilisation. In distributed computing parlance, these are called "embarrasingly parallel" problems, because they are trivial to scale up on parallel compute hardware. X11 is relatively more difficult...

    Logo discussion

That's a really pretty design, but, possible to make it look a tiny bit less like a swastika?
