Pre-Proposal Discussion: Amanda Johnson Full Time Dash Ambassador

An interesting idea. I think after the Terpin budget proposal the biggest issue is a >1 month contract using a monthly budget system. I know Evan is working on integrating that in the budget system, but until then, I don't think it is fair to either the Foundation (or whoever signs the...

DASH Governance twitter marketing idea #DASHDAO

I think Evan's description is probably more understandable to non-techies, though, since "blockchain" is still pretty esoteric to most people. Also, not to be too nit-picky, but it's not as much governance BY Blockchain as governance THROUGH the Blockchain. Unless we welcomed our new robot...

    Improved Budget Proposal Tracker: DashVoteTracker.com

Yes. The main page grabs the latest data from dashwhale's API, and the historical graphs grab data every five minutes and stores it in a database for later reference.

    Improved Budget Proposal Tracker: DashVoteTracker.com

Hello, I appreciated all the feedback I received for my Dash Budget Proposal Tracker (http://ericsammons.com/dash-budget). Based on the feedback, as well as a few other ideas of my own, I have made a number of improvements: I have moved the Tracker to http://dashvotetracker.com. I thought it...

Proposal: Core Team Xtra Fixed (Don't Burn Unspent Dash!)

It wasn't bad math - there were enough funds. It was bad timing - those three proposals came in too late. I would love to see a detailed explanation of the "rules" of the budget system; this "3 day rule" is the new to me. Perhaps it is somewhere, but I'm not sure where.

Voting, PR, Marketing, Budgets: Outsider's View

True, but I think that would reach some type of practical limit. If all the coins are bound up in MNs (as would happen if we truly pushed to maximize MNs), there would be no market for Dash, because no one could use it in practice, which could eventually lead to a significant drop in price. My...

Voting, PR, Marketing, Budgets: Outsider's View

Interesting perspective, but I'm not sure promoting the investment of MNs is really the way to go. For a few reasons: (1) There is a limit to the number of possible MNs, and we aren't that far from it now. There are currently ~ 3,500 MNs, and there can only be a theoretical max of 6,100 right...

Understanding the Budget Approval Process (and a possible bug)

No, the day doesn't matter - all that matters is the block #. When that block is created is when the payout will happen. It is currently scheduled for tonight. The Feb 3 date was just an approximate estimate made a few months ago. The reason the date is estimated is because no one knows exactly...

Understanding the Budget Approval Process (and a possible bug)

The payout is determined by the block #, not the date. The date given in that doc is just an estimate of when that block will occur. If you notice, both list the same block #: 415400.

Understanding the Budget Approval Process (and a possible bug)

Once we get the process for the buffer explained, I'll put a note on the site to note that.

Understanding the Budget Approval Process (and a possible bug)

Over on dashwhale oaxaca just said it is a bug that Evan is working on.

    DASH at Anarchapulco

I corrected it so that green does mean that it is getting paid (it was previously green if "funded"). If you see it is still not displaying properly, let me know!

Understanding the Budget Approval Process (and a possible bug)

TheDashGuy - if you look at my chart, all in green are currently projected to be funded. The only questions are the Anarcapulco and Wifi-Portal projects.

Understanding the Budget Approval Process (and a possible bug)

Currently, there seems to be a discrepancy between what proposals should be approved and which ones actually are approved. If you look at a screenshot of the current voting (from http://ericsammons.com/dash-budget/), you find this: If you look closely, both the Anarcapulco and Wifi-Portal...

    Budget Proposal Voting Status Table

I don't know about you, but I find the current budget vote to be fascinating. Two votes in particular - the Reimbursement for the Soda Machine and the Transform PR - are neck-in-neck in the voting (in fact, as I write this, they are tied!). But I admit I was having a hard time keeping track of...

What or who decides the value of dash

The value of anything is simply a reflection of what people believe it is worth compared to everything else. This value might be based on utility, use as a store of value, scarcity, potential to be more valuable in the future, government endorsement, etc., or any combination of these. It is...

    New Reddit header?

Here is my opinion, take it for what it's worth. Like all your stuff, it looks professional and clean. I really like the "Instant. Secure. Private" under the logo - it says very quickly the value proposition of Dash. I like the soda machine as well - gives a real-world example of Dash, and...

What does a "quality" MN proposal look like

I think the most important thing is specifics: How exactly will the money be used? What is the timeframe? Who is doing the work? The more specifics, the more people will feel comfortable with the proposal. I think this is how it should be. A proposal is more likely to be approved if either...
