I think the logo looks much better on the coin if it's scaled down & placed to the left a bit so its "centre of gravity" is in the middle. Like this:

So far it's just the blue variant that's been submitted, so if nothing else is submitted soon I'll make a poll to decide between the b&w and the blue version.

I like the blue version too. To me it feels a bit "off" too. Sort of unbalanced in terms of its size & placement on the coin. I suspect it could be tweaked so that it looks more natural.

Damn, I thought it was pretty good. I guess it could do with some shiny sparkles, maybe some love hearts? *back to the drawing board*

I'd be interested to see a red version, if someone with more design ability than me wants to create some mockups. Not many coin logos are predominantly red, and it draws the eye.

FWIW the colour palette needs to be discussed anyway, whether or not the b&w logo is chosen. This is to determine the set of colours that all darkcoin-branded media can use, for consistency & to establish our visual identity. Consider how the website would look if the only allowed colours were...

The designer only submitted the b&w version. My suggestion would be to generate a series of colour variations and had a vote -- that way we aren't just defaulting to the only colour version that anybody's seen.

Ok, so I've selected the winning design on designcrowd. Now we have 7 days to request any revisions from the designer. Do we have any revisions we'd like to see (i.e. that we couldn't easily do ourselves)?

Nobody has used ducks yet. I say we roll with it and rebrand -- Duckcoin: With Ducksend & DuckGravityPond.

I expect there will be a window of time during which the selected logo can be modified & tweaked. We will own the copyright on it after all. Then we could have another vote for the best version and go from there.

Personally I like 2, 4, 5 & 10. Hard to choose!

No worries! I'm glad the crowdsourced option produced some designs that people like. I hope we can move forward with branding and create a kickass website to go along with the chosen logo.
