Very slow confirmations?

I am experiencing VERY slow confirmations. I sent 15 DRK to the darkcoin dice game 30 minutes ago and it still has 0 confirmations!
I'm updated to v0.9.1.0 and I sent a 0.23 DRK transaction fee. Any ideas?

edit: it finally went through but I'd still like to know why this happens, it's happened before too.

block generation target time is 150 sec.
it's controlled by diff.
no one(pool, solo miner) found hash above diff with in 40 minutes.
block 44017 target diff is 640. 44016 target diff is 687.
So 44018 target diff is dropped to 380.

I think overall network luck.
