Sub-Ether is a mega big movie fan and has watched 1000's in his life and is always looking for the next best thing in kick ass thrilling home entertainment(does not do slow romantic comedies!)
And while movies like the Abyss, Terminator and 12 monkeys are all great in their own right, they are not what one would call far outside of the mainstream Hollywood freeway.
For example in South America, 'City of God' and 'the devil's backbone' would be on the already watched list.
So does anyone want to add to this list?
Any feedback and all additions appreciated  ...
P.S. If this results in a good night of movie watching, Sub-Ether may even send a tip to someone, but be warned it will not be easy and is probably not an obvious choice.
So here goes for starters :-
1) O Homem Do Ano (Man of the Year) : violent action from South America, if you enjoyed City of God, try this.
2) La Cabina - forgotten Spanish short horror story from 1972.
3) Children of Men : Apocalyptic flick about a world were all the females are infertile and society has broken down.
4) Livide : when the French make spooky horror, this is the result.
5) Sin Nombre (without a name): A dangerous train journey of people trafficking and gang war fare through latin America and the Mexico.
6) Nuit Blanche (Sleepless Night) : French none stop action thriller- guaranteed not to fall asleep in this one!
7) Ravenous : Gory horror with Robert Carlyle at his best.

8) Spider Forest : Surreal atmospheric Korean horror

9) From Beyond : No list is complete without at least 1 classic 80's gorefest over the top horror.
This is an excellent HP lovecraft story and has Jeffrey Combs in it, what more could you want?

10) Black Sheep : with a trailer like this, and class lines such as 'The Sheep are revolting ', how could you possibly not enjoy it!
