Recover iOS wallet from a non-iOS device

Hi, I am thinking of starting to use the iOS wallet. I like the idea of the recovery phrase being the only thing you need to claim your Dash. Problem is, if my iPhone breaks, I might need weeks to source a new one (I buy used ones and have to strike the right deal): in that case, how do I access my funds in the meantime with a computer?

Don’t want to use 3rd party stuff, especially if closed source, and for all I know the devs for those apps can stop developing them any time.

I need to know I can access my funds by knowing the passphrase, and typing a couple of command lines into a Linux machine with the core Dash client installed. Anything else is not good enough for me I am afraid.
