What is Dash Chat?

Dash Chat is an online Live-Chat cryptocurrency service for the Dash cryptocurrency. The organization works with a team of professional Dash advocates from around the globe and covers several languages. We aim to provide authentic information about the Dash cryptocurrency and to bring as many people on board with Dash as possible. The main purpose of Dash Chat is user acquisition. All our agents will be able to answer basic tech questions unless they are qualified to answer more detailed technical questions, then they may do so.

With this proposal we will establish a team of Live Chat operators to maintain ‘’Dash Chat’’ online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with the main purpose of user acquisition.

Some FAQ:

1. What is the objective of Dash Chat?

To convince or “recruit” as many people as possible to use Dash through a specialized Live Chat with a team of Dash recruitment specialists. We will assist each new Dash user acquire Dash from an exchange like Poloniex, help him set up a wallet securely and answer their questions live.


2. Who will work in Dash Chat?

We will start with a group of volunteers. Some members of the community have already offered to volunteer, such as:

1) Fible1 - Well-known Member- Position: Ticketing System
2) Splawik21 - Dash Core Group/ Foundation Member- Position: Live Chat Agent

There will be a screening process done with all volunteers, so only qualified agents will work with Dash Chat.


3. How can we be sure the quality of Dash Chat? How can we know that no scam is taking place within Dash Chat?

Very good question. I have provided a series of procedures to ensure the quality of Dash Chat in the Quality assurance videos and spreadsheets. Each chat that takes place in Dash Chat is accessible by all members of Dash Chat, I will personally read all chats, especially in the beginning months of Dash Chat. It would be best if a well-known member of the Dash community such as a Dash Core Group member would work with us to witness first-hand the whole operation.


4. What is required for Dash Chat to work?

We will need to add the live chat JavaScript code into www.dash.org website's HTML code.
Each qualified agent for Dash Chat will need:

* A computer with any operating system.
* Stable internet connection
* Genuine interest in Dash
* At least 2 hours a week of availability to work in Dash Chat


5. Will Dash Chat really be online 24/7?

This depends on the amount of qualified volunteers we get and their availability.

As I said in the pre proposal, there is already a project working on a support channel with QA and ticketing and both can overlap because people that need support tend to grab whoever they find available. I think that doing this before having support worked out is premature.

Also, the new site is gonna be launched on Feb 5th, so there could be problems to try this when you want to do it.

I feel that you think this proposal will sabotage the current plans for customer support that you are working on. But you should know that the only reason why I proposed it is because I sincerely feel that it would be a positive improvement to the current model of support, not only that but Dash Chat's main aim is live promotion of Dash.
I would really like to discuss with you the details and perhaps you can tell me what modifications to make to the proposal to make it more in line with what you and the core team members have planned.

One of the aspects of Dash that I find really beautiful is that it is decentralized and it is known that even the Dash Core Team if found to be inefficient, the MasterNode owners can vote yes to another team of developers. Don't get me wrong, I really think the current team is great and I really appreciate all the work that is being done, I am especially looking forward to the 12.1 update. However, my point is that if the proposal proves to be a superior solution to the current model of Dash promotion/customer support, then why not give it a try?

In your proposal can you clarify, who would be the account holder with LiveChat Inc.? In basic terms, who signs up and owns the login.

I'm not worried about other support models or if I'm part or them or not. I've been starting things around Dash for a while and handling them to better qualified people when possible. In fact, what @balu and I are working in will take away things from me because the current setup sucks. What I'm worried about is rushed plans that I'm not sure if will work or not and that will interfere with the team that is working on the new site. The homepage is sacred land and I believe that anything that affects our users needs to be thoroughly studied.

I agree with you, we shouldn't rush things. The only reason why I made the proposal is because the only way I see my project can become a reality is if the MN's vote yes to it. If there is no proposal then it just wouldn't happen. I think we can still give a date to when Dash Chat would be operational should it be approved. I would really like for us to cooperate and perhaps make the necessary modifications to my proposal for the best interest of Dash.

Yes, I mentioned it to Evan and he said, quote: '' Hello Roberto, thanks so much for messaging me. However, I don't really like the idea of trying to convert people directly, but someone that's available to answer questions about Dash and cryptographic currency, would be an amazing thing. In fact I have wanted to implement this type of service into evolution directly... so this is a good milestone toward the ultimate vision I think.''

But since I know that Dash is decentralized and the system of governance is through the MasterNode owners, that is why I made my proposal. I'm really not trying to overthrow your authority or anything, I am just making a proposal that I sincerely believe is in the best interest of Dash.

Sounds like Evan supports it from your text, not sure why you would interpret that as the devs not wanting to do it and having to do it yourself.

Excuse me, perhaps you misunderstood me or I worded things improperly. The reason why I made the proposal is because I am aware ofhow Dash's governance system works, so that's why I made the proposal. I also explained my project to some core team members like Evan and Splawik21.

Also, you should know that I totally agree with you, I think that someone from the Dash Core Team should have the keys to the ''owner'' account of LiveChatinc. =)

Ok let me rephrase it:

you say - you made the proposal because devs didn't want to do it but Evans text suggest the devs do want to do it which makes no sense.

initially you wanted to have control of the account that gives you access to all Dash.org users, their IPs, browser, OS, and also choose who can chat with them in a centralized chat box.

for me this opens too many potential for attacks, social, financial, etc. like i said on the other thread, it just takes 1 mistake for users to lose funds and damage the whole dash brand: "dash representative scams user on official dash website" not to mention sharing out all users analytics with random people

I will try my best to answer all your questions.

1. I never said that I made the proposal because the devs didn't want to. That is not true. If it is true then please quote me.
2. I never wanted to have the ultimate control of the livechat account, I answered this question of yours multiple times. The proof I can give you for this is that in the initial proposal I made, I provided a Dash Chat Volunteer Form and one of the vacant positions is for ''Dash Chat Manager''. Check it here: https://goo.gl/forms/owHJRfpW1OS0YerM2 I also said that I would be happy with being merely a live agent to promote chat and answer questions to the best of my abilities.
3. Can't a ''dash representative scam a user on the official website'' through here? https://www.dash.org/contact/ or is it just not possible?
The same way that it is unlikely to happen here: https://www.dash.org/contact/ is the same way it is unlikely to happen with Dash Chat, especially since there will be a dedicated quality assurance department and well-known members of the community participating with Dash Chat.
4. I did publish the proposal and provided a lot of documentation on Google Drive. There is nothing wrong with that. I am not requesting anyone's email address. In fact a person does not even need to own an email address to access the files. The reason why I uploaded them there was to keep things organized and not to bombard the forum/submission/proposal. So saying that I forced users to give me their email is definitely not true. Anyone can verify this by opening the links in a private browser or in a computer where they and no else is logged in to.
5. I didn't mean my comment about the governance system to be interpreted in a negative way and I did mention that I really appreciate all the work that the core team is doing, especially the 12.1 update.
6. I clearly expressed to you multiple times that I do not want to be the account owner of livechatinc for Dash Chat... I told you I agree it should be someone from the Dash Core Team. I am not trying to overrule anyone. I just want to share my idea that I believe will be beneficial to Dash.

If the account holder was someone known and the admins/agents were as tightly controlled as the dash.org/contact recipients then I wouldn't be worried about it as an attack vector. That would need to be managed going forward though and I bet most known people don't have the time required to make it worth while so how to vet new people - still taking a risk.

I think I talked enough about it anyway, without 'official' control of something like this I think it's really bad (sorry to sound centralized - but if people are representing Dash officially to users in a conversation we are kinda stuck with needing to vet who they are - official status isn't something to give out to people with 1 week old accounts because what people with that label pinned on them say reflects on the whole project and it should be earned with long contribution / reputation). With 'official' control where no anonymous people are allowed and every agent is well known, still think it's not scalable/economical, and obsolete by this year because we are solving this issue in other ways with the new system we're launching.

Sorry for the apparent negativey, my feeling is still strongly to keep any user generated content off the homepage / main site, just have really well designed content and a signup call to action, and link to forums / slack etc where users can see who they are talking too and not some anonymous rep. If this is done 100% with well known people (which btw would mean you wouldn't have access or be an agent because you are 1 week old) and everyone else wants to do it i wouldn't oppose it but i doubt that is viable in practice so basically potentially a big risk for little reward.
