There are more masternodes out there. That's why. Or at least, it's the main reason. I still remember being paid bi-weekly in 2014, but a lower amount though.
Just sit back and relax. If you are depending on masternode rewards as a source of income, you have another problem :)

I find that to be mostly accurate. Are you sure your MNO is not too close to minimum hardware requirements? The CPU and memory strain has jumped after the last few updates. Maybe it drops out from time to time when it becomes overloaded.
