A little about how this vending machine business is done.
There are always local companies that handle vending machine delivery and maintenance. these thignsa re too big and heavy to be shipping around. So, there's always some local vending machine repair company with a collection of older machines for sale. Not much money, usually.
If you buy one of them, they can make sure it's spruced up and fully working, and deliver it to the location of yuour choosing.
You never have to touch, or even see, the machine.
It could then be converted to DASH (only) on-site in an hour or three. By any half-competent maker type person.

If a few people got off their butts and found willing hosts, we might get a proposal rolling for the associated travel costs.
If we can fly Evan around and pay for his hotels, we can certainly pay for people to do something tangible.
It obviously wouldn't make sense to create such a proposal if there were not first some machine needing conversion. As such, the idea isn't getting much exposure. It depends upon the community to make a move first.
I just thought I'd mention it because this was described to all core members back in January and they kept it under wraps.
You really wouldn't have to do anything but find a place for the machine to live. You can use a variety of incentives. Say, the place where the machine lives gets to keep all the money? Could tie-in with that other thread I started...
An IX-enabled DASH payment terminal that just happens to live inside a vending machine... Seriously, nobody wants this?
