New Reddit header?

Is everything an argument to you? -> I guess? I mean people keep trying to argue with me, so of course I respond, is that wrong?

When you think that every car is going in the wrong direction it is usually time to check if maybe it is you who's mistaken. It maybe that everyone is predisposed against you, but maybe there is something else.

You clearly want to help, that is awesome. But you have to understand that communities develop dynamics and rules. Some people have been around for more than two years and you just arrived. I hate the old-timers vs new-people thing, sometimes a fresh mind sees things more clearly, but you need to ask questions and listen to the answers. Showing some respect for other people's work will also help if you want your voice to be heard. Up until now, all I see is that you antagonize with anyone who doesn't immediately agree with you.

Also, written communication is tricky, especially when most of us don't share the same native language. You'll see that if you stop using sarcasm things will go more smoothly.

As for the banner, there are successful projects with cluttered headers and with empty ones. Having info there can be useful, but having the same aesthetic everywhere (social media, wallets, videos) also causes a great impression. You say that community should be consulted. It was. The logo was voted on March last year. And those plain headers are the updated result of a contest held around April or May. I don't love the logo or the headers, but I'm just one person and I have to go with what was decided. We can't revisit everything all the time.

Your approach also has the problem of what do you feature in the banner. Dash is many things to many people. For you it is mostly about InstantX and the vending machine. For me is more about privacy (and I worked on the InstantX paper ). And for someone else maybe about the social experiment that blockchain governance is. Or whatever other thing they like the coin for!

In reddit I prefer to leave it as it is and let the links speak. And I'm totally comfortable leaving this kind of decisions to tungfa btw. Nothing personal, he's done more for the coin we all like than most people. I don't always agree with him, but this is the kind of stuff that he's usually right about.

Love the initiative!

I'm ok with the current banner but don't think it harms to have some quick snippets or a tagline to say what Dash is all about together with some simple small non-intrusive graphics on the side illustrating its key points (private, instant, secure for e.g.). That being said I don't think there's an URGENT need to change it.

Not too fond of hashtags as it's not fitting of a corporate identity and I don't think it's a good idea to have it associated with a soda machine on a main banner.

I think Dash is more than a soda machine and the soda machine analogy only works with cryptocurrency people who understand why this is revolutionary in the field of cryptocurrency. Otherwise it's like, uh okay, I can buy soda with regular cash too, so what's the big deal and why should I bother with Dash?

However incorporating use of the instantX and x11 logos can be nice. along with the Darksend one. I think your banner is better suited as a paid ad placement as opposed to a header banner so it can be used in other contexts. My opinion is that header banners should remain clean and minimalistic without too much clutter going on.
