Hey guys. Im a new member. I brought Dark coins a long time ago then the price was >$12 a coin. I have been meaning to set up a masternode and am just getting around to doing it now. I have read some of the giudes etc but im still a little stuck. Can i use amazon free tier as a VPS to run a masternode.?

I suppose their really in it for the long haul then. And a lesson now, bargin basement prices on masternodes now ~$3500

Over $10 for a month, but there was a short window of 3 days at the all time high
(look at sky high volume on the build up, a big tell sign eh)

Far out my heart would have been pounding thinking I have to get some have to get some, and then 3 days later aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh, down down, prices are down. (bloody Status Quo in my head now)

yeah also BTC were around the 900 mark as well if I recall correctly. Any way a 14 BTC investment brought me around 840 drk. i think.

Yeah of course. Im not complaining at all. But yeah the coins I needed for a Master node cost me over 10k. In it for the long haul. Im not fussed at all.

I'm sure you will look back at this point one day and laugh. Dash will easily eclipse $12 in the future for sure! And the ride will be fun.

A VPS that charges for bandwidth is not suitable in general as you will use quite a bit.

Sorry for my late reply I'm at work. I run 6 Masternodes on Websound. They charge £15 a year for a 256MB instance, with 1TB data transfer per month. You can find others like that on www.lowendbox.com. Just look for ones with lots of or unlimited bandwidth, and of course, heed the reviews.

Varies, but I heard recently it's about 100 GB and rising. With an unlimited or generous allotment, you won't have to worry about extra charges. AWS can get quite expensive. :smile:
