Help getting started please

So I have read a bit about Darkcoin and cashed in some BTC in order to get 1000. I am using the latest mac wallet. What do I do next? I want to send anonymously obviously and also is there some kind of POS? I am really terrible when it comes to denominations so please talk to me like a baby. Thanks!

One IMPORTANT advise from me: don't mix all your 1000 coins now! Only small amounts that you need. Up to 100 Dash should be ok. For example when your hardware crashes while mixing big amounts, you can lose all your coins! Even your backups can't help you in that case.

Yes, it is supposed to completely remove DarkSend, and incorporate a new anonymyzing solution that will be hardcoded, so no need to mix, etc.

Thanks! I don't have to send the 1000 coins. Anyhow I have just got away from POS with net coin and this looks like a much more solid investment for a much much better coin.

The reason he lost all his money was because his hard drive, which just happened to be a USB stick, failed and made wallet recovery impossible. Who runs darksend on a USB stick - which are known for being easily susceptible to data loss and corruption? That is like driving a lamborgini on a icy road at top speed. Sure the lambos are known for their good handling but do you think this is still a wise decision?
