You only pay for conversations with people who command a higher price than you. When you converse with someone with a lower price, you are getting paid.

"Spammers" have to pay to get to the top of your message queue just like everyone else. If there are a hundred people who want to spam you, they will be competing with each other (and everyone else who wants to reach you) to get to the top of your queue. By default in FundChan, you only see the top three messages, so you can't get "spammed to death".

how to sort "intelligent" comments vs nonsense / spam ?

There are a few mechanisms in place to help surface intelligent conversations and sink nonsense. It starts with the sender making a value judgment -- is this message worth the money attached to get it delivered?

If you find yourself in an intelligent conversation that you would like to continue, you can check "free reply" which makes it free for the other person to send a message to the top of your queue and continue the conversation.

Also there is an extensive system in place to enable public messages to be targeted intelligently to people who are most likely to value the message, and also increase the amount of money attached to the message.
