explorer seems to be down

There is a thread about PR and lack thereof. I think the 'PR' engine should wait till after rc4 and it is proven to work without major issues.

but having the main explorer http://explorer.darkcoin.io/ down does not look good for a number of reasons.. the least of which is that it is linked to on many different sites... some might think drk is dead just because the link is not working.

for instance, this page: http://www.coingecko.com/coins/darkcoin links to it as THE Blockchain/Supply

I started a separate post not knowing this one is here... this needs to get fixed..

if it is a matter of funds for server, I will donate..
if not funds, what? there doesn't have to be coins on the server right? not a security issue??

I totally agree with you here. with the official pool down, and the official block chain explorer down, price going down etc, people might think the coin is dead.. either way, it doesn't look good and should be fixed asap.

That's why no coin should ever have an "official" pool or whatever else...

It actually is running and synced already --> http://explorer.darkcoin.qa
As soon as Evan has switched the DNS IP and the change has propagated, the server will serve as http://explorer.darkcoin.io as well

If you are impatient (and know how to handle your local hosts-file) add this entry

explorer.darkcoin.io seesms to be slow at showing up payments. i.e XyRzfcdK94NmvYsRPQisNdjzpmuDstqooW

official = 1016.5

we also need to make sure the new link is updated on all the channels i.e bitcointalk OP etc :)
