I once had a friend who was a collector of 'special' autos/trucks, etc...
When he returned from an auction, he described his thoughts regarding a firetruck offered on the block...
He said it was nice and shiny, and ran well... then he considered how he might actually make use of it...
He could use it at his ranch, for fire suppression, IF that occasion arose... but he did have an automatic system in place for that...
Or, he could bring it out a few times a year, for parades.
He determined there was little practical use for it, and the entertainment value would be limited.
Someone else took it home.
