do you think the escrow costs are high ?

10% of all dash for proposals in escrow is taken by greencandle as the fee, thats a lot of money that could be spent on other proposals right.

what exactly is the reason why its so high ? is there anything that can be done to bring it down to may be like 5% or so ?

MNOs prefer proposals with escrow options, so no way can one not include it or most likely that proposal will not pass. So the fee must be reduced, given how vital it is.

The amount deducted could be the difference between achieving milestones set on the proposal or complete failure.

I am blown away that it's 10%. That is crazy!
This should be a maximum of 1%, why 10% when peer to peer exchanges charge 1% for escrow?

Considering green candle is taking the (downside) risk of the price of dash dropping as well the 10% fee is a better deal. And cash conversion is also a option as well. This post is a little less informed as you should probably provide all the information about green-candle then just pointing out the fees. Dash force news 3 amigos podcast had a great discussion about the escrow.

The key thing to note is that it is a work in progress and it's not easy to balance all the pros and cons.
