Well, they also claim "D" as their symbol!!

D with stroke is a phonetic character, it was used much before Doge. I think I've already seen it used in some Dash app, but I can't remember now where:

I don't like currency symbols, they are a pain in the ass to type. I'd rather use dash or even dsh, but I don't ever use $ (I always write usd), so maybe I'm a weirdo.
