The only thing though, why does the layout of dash.org have to look like virtually every other scamcoin website? It's like there's a generic cryptocoin website template and everybody just tweaks it for their own coin.

Keep in mind the more websites linking back to the main Dash website essentially is the main goal here. Linkbacks in SEO are golden. Especially from mobile-friendly websites...

YES! Exactly this. I would even say go for a more "futuristic" look and feel. Shiny stuff, straight lines, mesh networks, welcoming blue/white colors would all be ideal!
