happy to announce that DRK will be the first alt to be accepted on our online store in addition to BTC and LTC.

Bitroad was the second website to accept Bitcoin for goods and we are proud to be one of the first for Darkcoin too.

The key advantages compared to other altcoins are several. First of all the fact that darkcoin brings some real benefit and is not just a copy of an existing coin also the fact that community effort is targeted to both function development and marketing/promotion in an healthy way.
The fact that no one from this community tried to bribe us as often happens is also a plus.
 
We will accept Darkcoin for payments using a payment processor and DRK will be exactly on the same level as BTC and LTC. A logo stating Darkcoin accepted here will be displayed on the home page. We can also use a banner to promote your forum/coin page. A brief description of DRK will be posted in the appropriate section of the website.
The only difference will be that at the moment the product price cannot be displayed in DRK before checkout. We are working on this but currently DRK is not listed at the exchange we use for that specific function and we must do a bit of work to find a solution. If this feature is not ready for the next update it will be implemented after a few weeks.
 
There will be some promotion but I'm not sure what will be exactly. It might be "free express shipping for orders over x amount" or a selection of popular products with flat% discount. Probably the hosting and SSL services will be discounted too for a few weeks.
The guys at marketing are still figuring it out.

I've been following these guys from the first week of release in January 2014 (and even with Xcoin before), they have been solid from day 1. I have never lost anything from a wallet from any of the updates, which is pretty amazing because the code has been rewritten so many times and there are many many updates, they are like you say, truly original in cryptocoin frontier design with the Masternodes,InstantX transaction locking and more.
I have put you on my list of favourites and look forward to ordering from you in the future as I work in electronics.:grin:
