They are already doing it, by censoring cryptos in google, facebook and twitter, by massively buying and selling cryptos in order to destabilize the cryptomarket, and of course by injecting spies into the cryptos' core teams.

What you need is decentralization, cryptocurrency and intense governance (which means low proposal fees for government proposals)

There is a remedy on this:

• Reduce (or extinguish) the masternode collateral fee (thus increase the number of mastenodes)
  
• Change the 10% that is required for a proposal to be approved (thus vote the numbers)
  
• Let the proposals reside in a tree/graph like budget system (thus create an alternative non linear budget system which will use tags, folders, interdependencies e.t.c.) and let them never expire (thus waiting for the masternodes to arrive in the appropriate branch of the tree and vote for the proposal whenever they wish)
