Why open-sourcing may be a really bad idea…

90% Cryptocurrency users won't trust Darkcoin if its closed-source. The number of times I have been told "Its closed-source, what a joke Darkcoin is." then I answer "It will be open-source soon.". Who cares about copy cats? The strength is the original author and masternodes.

    RC5 Launching September 22nd

Developers please don't rush. Make RC5 a bugless, usable release for the main-net so the movement from BTC to DRK can finally happen. Darkcoin transactions always were a lot faster than Bitcoin transactions. BTC transfers usually take me about 2 hours but Darkcoin a couple minutes. Instant...

    v0.10.13.x RC5 Testing

That is a lot of them "United States". Isn't hosting there expensive, like you have to pay for bandwidth? I think it would make a lot more sense to host in Europe, for example ecatel.info offers a dedicated server(Windows or Linux) with 10 TB Bandwidth included for 40 EUR/month. Yes, a dedicated...

    Deepdotweb article

The amazing RC5 and Darksend finally working properly! Five hours and I have anonymized 5000 tDRK. 1k left then giving it all back to faucet.

    v0.10.13.x RC5 Testing

The completion bar stays at 100% even though new funds are being anonymized. I will edit this post when new funds are anonymized(and if they are anonymized). So far RC5 looks really good. I think this is the RC that will make the price jump sky high. I just hope it won't be moved to mainnet...

    v0.10.13.x RC5 Testing

Am I the only one for whom the faucet is not sending funds to? :( Edit: Sorry, I forgot the "-testnet" argument.

    Decentralized mixing

Thanks. I honestly did not know why masternodes cost money, I thought the only reason was so NSA could not open 9000000 masternodes with zero cost as explained by members previously in this thread.

How safe is 2 factor authorization for Darkcoin users?

Then why does Google/Verizon/At&t whatever the fuck it is send you a SMS with data to enter for successful login on your Gmail account? :(

How safe is 2 factor authorization for Darkcoin users?

Long text to insult me, 10/10 would read again. Here is how it would work. When you login on Google, it asks for message that was sent to your phone. In the background, Google sends a GET request to 2fa.php?phone=your_phone number and returns the sent message to google. 2FA sends SMS to your...

    Decentralized mixing

Leave this thread kid. I never said Your masternode alone. What part of this you did not understand? Some people would randomly use your masternode too but the difference is when you're doing mix you would ask explicitly for it to be part of the masternode chain used for mixing to defeat the...

How safe is 2 factor authorization for Darkcoin users?

LOL dude. How does Google servers know where to send SMS to? Because they keep your phone number in database in another row next to your username and md5(password). Brain->Enable(); pls.

How safe is 2 factor authorization for Darkcoin users?

2FA is Not as Secure As you think it is. I think I have said enough in this thread. 2FA is useless. It was originally planned just to link your account to your phone number so you can be tracked at any time up to 10m precision.

    Decentralized mixing

Ok. I will explain when the free masternode approach would be an attack vector and when it would not. Lets imagine that it currently is free, the government are running three million wallets(3 million masternodes). Darksend has two options: 1) Use random masternodes. 2) Use random + one your...

    Decentralized mixing

It should be added to the GUI then. If you can choose which Masternode to use then this thread is pretty much useless. Sorry, I did not know. Not really. Anyone then can setup their own MD and use it for anonymizing. Them being free has more positive than negative.
