Thoughts on Trust and Reversible Transactions.

In a true democracy, the poor will always vote to tax the rich so they can get free stuff. And since there are more poor than rich - votes indicate that 'citizens' want to pay taxes. How about you do a poll and ask if the people with the money paying the taxes actually want to pay taxes?

Thoughts on Trust and Reversible Transactions.

On the last LTB podcast, AA was talking about adding a 15 day hold on Bitcoin payments. During that 15 days the buyer could reverse the transaction. Kind of like allowing a chargeback for a limited time. I don't know if he was saying it just because it was possible or an actual realistic...

Thoughts on Trust and Reversible Transactions.

Society choosing to be taxed...NO. The only one that cares about taxing you is the government! Obviously, the government is not going to benefit from crypto. The banking system will also not benefit from crypto. So what? They are parasites that take most of the wealth that you earn through...

Anyone have thoughts about smart contracts vs. decentralized oracles? If so, PM me. Research for vid

Here are a few points I will add. The smart contracts system with Ethereum is based on following the crypto rules. But the problem is there is no way to enforce the rules. It isn't owned by a government with a police force, jail system, or way to dock future wages. It isn't capable of...

Thoughts on Trust and Reversible Transactions.

Actually, Iron was the first metal to be stamped into coins. The problem was it rusted and was too common. Gold has value because it is rare, doesn't corrode, has better electrical properties than silver or copper, can be molded and formed easily, can be reused over and over. It is also very...

Thoughts on Trust and Reversible Transactions.

You are misinterpreting the reason for taxes and trust. The reason the $ is trusted is not because of taxation. It gained its trust when it was linked to precious metals. Silver Dollar - was a dollar and 1 oz of silver. So during this time it was essentially a promise to pay in silver(along...

Thoughts on Trust and Reversible Transactions.

Here is the thing that most people don't understand. Banks make an enormous amount of money on loans. It is basically an unlimited money printing machine. So they can afford buildings everywhere and pay people to help you. Think about a house loan. You pay 200K in principal + an additional...

Thoughts on Trust and Reversible Transactions.

I don't understand why you think Dash can have reversible transactions. This was the fundamental quality of Bitcoin that it could never be reversed. Trustless, irreversible transactions is the biggest benefit to crypto. The blockchain is not intended to go backwards and just reverse...

Do you see value in categorizing proposals as "core" or "community"? Why/why not?

You can't rollback a transaction without redesigning code. This is what Ethereum is trying to do with the DAO problems. It is ugly to say the least. If they do it then it allows the possibility to do it in the future - weakening the faith in Ethereum and it's fungibility. If they don't do it...

Do you see value in categorizing proposals as "core" or "community"? Why/why not?

Besides for setting a really bad precedence that any wallet can be zeroed at the touch of a button, why would anyone keep funds in the same wallet if they knew it would be confiscated. They would just transfer to another wallet. Mix it. Send again. (wallet isn't really the right term but I...

Do you see value in categorizing proposals as "core" or "community"? Why/why not?

Yeah, you can stop paying someone that has a budget paying them. That isn't a tax. That is just defunding future work. A government can tax you and go after all your assets and put in jail depending on if you pay. There is a big difference.

Do you see value in categorizing proposals as "core" or "community"? Why/why not?

Taxation doesn't work in crypto. You can't force someone to pay something - they can just create a new wallet with a new 'identity'. A government can put you in jail....(unless you are running for president or a CEO)...that has a little more pull than a taxing a dead wallet.

Do you see value in categorizing proposals as "core" or "community"? Why/why not?

The voting system doesn't have a way to enforce change. It doesn't have a government police force, jails, or even a legal entity to prosecute. It can only fund opportunities. So calling it governance make this that much more confusing. With 12.1, programmable features will be added. If we...

    HEY! A..... 'guys'

I don't see this happening the same way you do. Right now we have banks going insolvent, countries not trusting other countries currency, huge devaluations in currency, capital controls. This isn't the same world 20 years ago. Merchants are getting charge backs with credit cards and slapped...

    New website discussion

Guys, would you stop working to perfection. We need to get some new content up quickly. We have the D10E conference just days away. The Bitcoin block having is in 3 days. Bitcoin is likely to have huge transaction delays. These are big events and we should be focusing on making changes now...

Do you see value in categorizing proposals as "core" or "community"? Why/why not?

The only way to logically categorize proposals in a decentralized project is by the actual activity. There could be 5 core teams if anyone stepped up to the plate. Let's focus on naming projects based on what they do and skip the labels. The current core members are only core until their...

UdjinM6, actually, they do have a point about spending 45% of the block reward on mining instead of 100%. The $9K/mo isn't used correctly. See an excerpt from a more formal response I am working on with Macrochip. 20:00 CDR "If you remove the subsidies by half then you are necessarily...

Two great ideas I just read about

@GrandMasterDash There are a few things to keep in mind. The budget system only allocates funds. It doesn't force people to do anything. If you want something done request it...or even better yet put some Dash to it. We put up a job list of things we want with some dash behind them...
