No Block Source Available Error (New Install & New DASHer) - Mac OSx Yosemite

Hello,

I have just joined the community and installed the client Dash-QT. I am on Mac OSx Yosemite.

Upon loading Dash-QT it reads at the bottom, "No block source available" - and it then stays here forrrrevvvvver. I then followed some basic bootstrap.dat instructions I found, but stil no change.

Any thoughts? Directions?

Thanks!

Hello and welcome :)

I'm on same OS and have no troubles syncing but my machine is far from being a reference one for sure

So, just to make sure you've done it right with bootstrap.dat: you should place it in the same folder (datadir) where your wallet.dat is i.e. ~/Library/Application Support/Dash/ Note: it was Darkcoin previously which is not the case now, I just updated https://github.com/UdjinM6/dash-bootstrap with new folders. Next time after that wallet should start syncing "from disk" up to the block height that is written next to the link you clicked. Should take about 30-40 minutes.

However "No block source available" could be caused by some firewall restrictions, make sure wallet has network access. If it's all good and still nothing changes you can try to force some network connections to known nodes: create dash.conf in that datadir and add few lines like that one "addnode=someip" where someip is IP from that page https://dashninja.pl/masternodes.html

Hi UdjinM6,

I have imported bootstrap.dat - it has fully loaded and has returned to saying, "No block source available."

The yellow rotating arrows at the far right are not rotating, and the two computer screen icon have a white/red X on them.

My firewall is open and TCPBlock is showing that Dash-QT is connecting to the internet - but I don't think making any good connections to the network.

Hmm... Try this: dash-qt -> Preferences... -> Network, make sure you have second checkbox (proxy) off. Also try changing first one (UPnP) and see if it helps.
