etherium - is it not too late for mining?

I just wonder if it's not too late for mining ? Etherium id going down, but maybe one day will grow. What do you thing about that?

Ethereum is moving to Proof of Stake (bye bye mining)
Ethereum will be using a difficulty bomb detonation in december to put pressure on miners to switch to Proof of Stake / Beacon Chain, by making the mining difficulty very high and as a result make mining in general for Ethereum unprofitable.
