I want to preface the following by stating that I am for paying taxes and I am against oppression.
The first and best use-case for Dash is that it enables people to engage in economic transactions while avoiding oppressive surveillance and taxation.
I believe this is the fundamental value proposition of Dash and it should be part of our tag line.
Why does anyone prefer to pay or receive cash? The biggest reason cash is preferred is because it empowers the parties to the transaction to deal with taxing authorities on their own terms. The second biggest reason is to avoid the expense of dealing with a banking system that is enmeshed with taxing authorities.
I am not a libertarian ideologue -- I believe taxes are necessary to support a liberal democracy (my preference), but I also believe that a democracy has to engage its people and collect its taxes in a manner that maximizes liberty and minimizes oppression and surveillance. Simply saying "because it's the law" is not an argument and it is not how a democracy should engage its citizens.
