Dash Android Wallet Chinese interface

In the first screen of the Chinese interface, Dash is translated into Bitcoin.
Dash Copay has the same problem.

Thanks for pointing this out @Eric_MG I have corrected this for Android, it will read 達世幣 in future releases.

It is recommended to add the Traditional Chinese language interface. Taiwanese and Hong Kong are all using traditional Chinese.

Traditional Chinese is already available, although I believe we need more research on the possible language codes to make sure it is actually made available to all users with different phone configurations. This is the current situation:
  • zh - Simplified Chinese (达世币)
  • zh_TW - Traditional Chinese (達世幣)
I have not tested which language is actually delivered to the user if the phone is set to zh_HK or zh_SG, since these languages are not directly available. In this case, Android will need to fall back to one of the two above translations, but I am not sure which one it will select. (The decision paths for which language to display are described here, but are different in different versions of Android.) We also have the option to set the translations to the region-independent zh_Hans and zh_Hant language codes. As you can see, it's a complicated situation, and we are trying to support as many locales as possible with our current process.

If you are in HK, can you let me know if you see Simplified or Traditional characters with your Android phone set to Chinese (Hong Kong)? If are in HK and see 比特幣, then everything is working as expected and the Bitcoin/Dash typo will be corrected in the next version, as described in my first post above.

Thanks for your help on this!

Thank you for your explanation.

Dash Android Wallet's Traditional Chinese is already available, but Dash Copay only has a Simplified Chinese interface.

I'm a Taiwanese. After the Dash Android Wallet is installed, it displays the Traditional Chinese interface by default.

Thanks for your update - I'll check with some people in HK to try to determine what interface they see. Unfortunately I don't have access to any Dash Copay translation data yet, but I will check with the team to see how they are managing translation. Copay is currently not a priority, so I'm not sure if this will be made available to me any time soon.

For anyone interested in participating in translation and language QA of Dash products, please send me PM and join the team here: https://www.transifex.com/dash/
