Hi all, my name is Richard Jerez, and as you probably know, I was one of the regional representatives of Dash Latam for Venezuela. I, in behalf of all the regional ex-representatives of Dash Latam, want to present the following statement to all the Dash Community:
We, the former Dash Latam regional representatives in Venezuela and Latinoamerica, have decided to express our best intention to continue our valuable work supporting Dash in our communities.
We will continue offering advice and support, both face-to-face and remote, to the merchants who were left helpless after the forced end of Dash Latam’s activities in Venezuela and latinoamerica.
For all those users of Dash, whether they are merchants or not, it should be noted that Dash is one of the few digital currencies in the world that has a governance system (managed by a huge number of administrators) which allow the financing of proposals that contribute independently to boost the usability of Dash.
What does this mean?
Any ordinary person can submit for approval the development of their particular project to promote the use of Dash. This was the case of Dash Latam, an organization that carried out a very good proposal for commercial adoption in several cities of Venezuela and Latinoamerica. It was a project which featured several promoters to explain, advise and incentivize merchants and consumers to use Dash as a means of payment.
The Dash Latam Proposal was affected by budget cuts, which led to the closure of its operations. However, this is an isolated issue which does not affect the current use of Dash as digital money at all.
We know that a great controversy has been created by the disclosure of a statement made by the CEO of Dash Latam. In this statement, the closing of Dash Latam’s operations was announced and the use of various platforms for the support and exchange of Dash was recommended. This gave rise to a misunderstanding that Dash had closed its doors, that merchants and users would have to exchange their Dash to a different digital currency.
We would like to clarify to all users of Dash that the voting/approval and execution of independent proposals does NOT affect the operations of Dash as a digital currency.
All the people identified at the end of this release have been active members of the Dash community in Venezuela long before sharing work with Dash Latam. We would like to take this opportunity to announce to the entire masternode community and the general public that now, more then ever, we vow to continue to the commercial/consumer adoption implemented and executed by us.
This work has been an enriching experience. Venezuelans are enduring pure strain and many are living through the difficult situation of surviving in this country. We express with all confidence that we have the greatest capacity to carry out and promote the three most important points in the usability of Dash as digital money:
- commercial adoption
- consumer adoption
- liquidity through the remittances
We also want to highlight that we continue to firmly believe in decentralization and the Dash governance system, that we don´t share the latests George Donnelly´s views and opinions about Dash.
In fact, we have decided to set up a crowdfunding in order to cover administrative expenses to provide advice and support to more than 400 merchants who have been left homeless and disoriented at this time. This will avoid having Dash lose the great achievements made by Dash Latam in Venezuela.
