    January 2016 Budget Proposal

Hi I don't post on here very much, but one of the proposals has me a bit concerned so I thought I should vocalize my thoughts. While Michael Terpin does appear to have good credentials in PR and while he may be connected to major publications like the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times...

    Self-sustainable Decentralized Governance by Blockchain

The same dangers exist with funding startups. Yet somehow they manage to work. It really comes down to people and execution. A good example is people in crypto will even fund anon devs. This simply doesn't happen in the real world. It's definitely not an issue with the process as it's...

    You completely miss the point.

The payback structure would exactly match how it was taken. You vote for 15% allocation to the program. If the overall SDGB program fails then you vote to end it. It inherently takes a longer view, and avoids constant no votes on projects because people want to give up less.

You think those financial incentives are the same as those held by top management in publicly traded companies? They are dramatically different which will result in a completely different dynamic.

If that were true there wouldn't be countless examples of how this model successfully works in the public markets.

    Self-sustainable Decentralized Governance by Blockchain

Not true. If so, you would point out that the 15% allocation model (that you refer to as mandatory donation model) has an extremely large pro which is that it is more aligned with the long term goals of Dash akin to a publicly traded company has a budget committee. Having people constantly...

^^^ This is a very biased presentation of the options.

    Self-sustainable Decentralized Governance by Blockchain

Also worth noting, anyone trying to compare this to failed government budgeting programs is making a seriously flawed comparison. This program would be more akin to what we see in large publicly traded companies like Apple or Microsoft that have budget committees...

    Self-sustainable Decentralized Governance by Blockchain

I haven't had the time to closely read all 16 pages of this thread, but while skimming it I noticed a couple of things. In particular, I want to reinforce that it is important that the funds released cannot be voted back to the Masternodes, unless the entire SDGB project is a failure and...

    Self-sustainable Decentralized Governance by Blockchain

David you are exactly right. The idea is that funds are set aside to be used ONLY for the advancement of Dash or it's ecosystem. MN holders then decide where best to apply these funds. I'm a big believer in the wisdom of crowds and this will be a fantastic application of it. If money is...

Btw, you can read as to how I came about joining the board on the following thread, but I've also put my response here below: https://dashtalk.org/threads/a-word-about-the-foundation-its-mission-and-directors.4616/ "Yes, Evan knew I had access to resources that could help make this happen [the...

A word about the Foundation, it's mission and directors

Yes, Evan knew I had access to resources that could help make this happen. I recommended an attorney I've worked with in the past, Harold Boo, whom has experience structuring 501(c)6 legal entities and has had interest and involvement in cryptocurrencies prior. Anyone who knows Harold knows...

    Rebranding and Scalability

DASH is a pretty perfect name. It opens doors for the coin while clearly embodying the coins key features in the name (speed and anonymity). DASH is obviously another term for fast, and sounds like word Cash (which as everyone knows cash is anonymous), and can be seen both as short for...

    Rebranding and Scalability

Dash can also be seen as short for Dark Cash. I'm suprised no one even realized this, as it really contributes to how ideal the name really is.
