    Flexible Proposal System

Regarding Ryan's masternode shares idea. I was initially impressed with this. But now I have some reservations: 1. Is this projected to result in less actual reward (in USD) for existing masternodes.* If so, why would MNOs approve such a move? 2. I often say, "The purpose of Dash is not to fill...

    Flexible Proposal System

I liked Ryan's idea about reducing miner reward -- my only comment is why must we move at such a glacial pace? We can't move one percent per month?

    Flexible Proposal System

Another, simpler way to implement this would be to modify the amount of Dash required for each type. For example, a voting masternode might need to stake 1,050 Dash and a non-voting masternode might need to stake only 950 Dash. Masternodes staked with 1,000 Dash would become invalid. Doing it...

    Flexible Proposal System

Two things: 1. I would like to see the treasury simply increased to fifteen percent of the block reward. Otherwise, you burden the MNOs with more things to argue over each cycle. 2. We may want to eventually have TWO CLASSES OF MASTERNODES. One that has voting power and one that does not. The...

    Temporary Measures / Quick Wins

I got the impression from Ryan's presentation that we already have too many masternodes. Therefore... 1. Do we currently have too many masternodes and do we know the optimal number? 2. If we have too many, what can we do to lower or cap this number? 2a. Can we increase the number Dash...

    Consensus Mechanisms

Short term: reduce mining rewards to 10% incrementally. Long term: Figure out a way to repurpose some MNs or use MN quorums to emit blocks. MNs are already POS nodes. The only impediment to this is the reliability of the MN network, and that can be addressed mainly by throttling IS locks if the...

    Minimum Fees

For a while, I was convinced that we needed to go back to charging extra for IS. I thought this was necessary because IS locks are a limited resource. There are only so many that can be created per second before the MN network becomes overwhelmed and other MN services are impacted negatively. I...

    Minimum Fees

My gut tells me the right fee for a normal Dash tx is about five cents. We are attempting on-chain scaling, and IMHO, that rules out micro-transactions. Compared to Venmo and Paypal, a five cent tx fee is miniscule.

    Minimum Fees

I wish we could adjust fees with a spork-like mechanism. Right now we need to release and deploy a whole new version of the software in order to adjust fees. I don't think oracles are reliable enough to be used as a basis for setting tx fees on a blockchain.

    Consensus Mechanisms

Here is a thought experiment for a solution where LLMQ quorums emit every other block with POW backup: There is a new quorum type, one designed to emit blocks. There are three of these quorums active at any one time. Every other block, the network will only accept a valid block as having been...

    Dash Core v0.14 on Mainnet

Attention Dash Masternode Owners: Please register with the Deterministic Masternode List now

I would say that if DCG delays the spork activation, it's because v0.14 testing will take a whole month at least and it really won't affect the overall schedule. Or maybe it's because it's not fair to the hardware wallet people who are struggling to update. (One reason I hate hardware wallets...

Attention Dash Masternode Owners: Please register with the Deterministic Masternode List now

Masternodes are a herd. A smart herd, but a herd nonetheless. DCG has got to lead the herd, not be led by them. Also, it should be remembered that we are currently in 15th place on coinmarketcap.com. If we were in the top five, I would be a bit more relaxed about decisions potentially affecting...

Attention Dash Masternode Owners: Please register with the Deterministic Masternode List now

I would much rather have had DCG say that on March 8th, they will make a decision based upon the percentage of masternodes upgraded (must be at least 50%), and the rate of upgrades, and also taking into account how delaying the activation by a month could affect the project's critical path...

What's this Trust Protector thing all about? Let's meet them and chat about Dash stuff.

The only obvious choice on the list for me is Perry Woodin. Everyone else I need to investigate. I hope Dashwatch creates a convenient way for us to review each candidates credentials. Anyone who does not believe DCG is doing an awesome job at the moment should be considered "reality challenged"...

    v13.0 Testing

If it's any consolation, the testing work you are doing is greatly appreciated. Many people are counting on you! They are probably doing it this way because of the intense pressure to get this release out the door ASAP. They are causing testers to bear more than is usual in an effort to...

Announcing my departure from Dash Core Group

Congratulations and thank you Andy. I have one question for you though. Since learning about deterministic masternode lists and masternode quorums, I have become obsessed with the idea that Dash may one day be able to use masternode quorums to create blocks, and thus retire the current POW...

    v12.2 Testing

This issue is limited to the wallet code I am assuming. Can we address this little wart in a minor release after 12.2?
