Equibit Tittle trading platform, hiring DASH Dev

This is fantastic news both for our developers (I'm sure this will not be one of many commercial opportunities Dash could open the door to), and our ecosystem. Glad to see the hard work paying off and some concrete benefit arising from conferences. Great job Juan!

Poll: What is DASH's governance model?

This is an idealized view, but rarely does "subservient" work in practice. Any individual on the core team could build up a reputation in the community and decide they are willing to stake that reputation on a risky bet. You could imagine that Evan feels that a particular move might be unpopular...

Poll: What is DASH's governance model?

The way this topic is being presented is very "adversarial" in the sense that the question posed is a continuum of "control" between two groups. I couldn't even take the poll because I don't think that's the proper framework to think about an issue like governance. Who has "control" over the...

    Prioritization of fiat gateways

Solarminer, I understand your points about short timeline, and wanting more granular control over how resources are allotted. And while I understand those concerns, I have very different views of how this process can and should work. There is an inherent trade-off in running any organization...

    Pre-Proposal Discussion: Committee Committee

I submitted the proper TPS Report in triplicate to the Pre-Proposal Review Committee two months ago. One of those copies should have been forwarded to the Proposal Committee. If that didn't happen, it only illustrates the urgent need for the Committee Committee to be created, so that the Process...

    Pre-Proposal Discussion: Committee Committee

Proposal Description As we are continually building a more and more sophisticated governance and budgeting system, we also need an organization in place which will support a more complex system. As we evaluate other organization structures in government, private enterprise, and non-profits, we...

    April 2016 Budget Proposal

No. Absolutely not. Especially as the value of Dash grows, there should actually be a larger budget and more and more funding available to both core and non-core projects. No. Absolutely not. Voting will determine what is funded and what is not, and the core team will be subject to the same...

    Proposal: Public Awareness Funds Reallocation

This is a cross-post from Dashwhale at https://www.dashwhale.org/p/PA-reallocation Proposal Description The core team has already proposed that the funds associated with the Public Awareness budget would be much better spent on accelerating development and on creation of fiat gateways. See the...

    Prioritization of fiat gateways

Based on feedback from the community, and in consultation with the rest of the core team, I have added a "decision proposal" to the network to make the reallocation of the Public Awareness budget official. I think this is a good solution that addresses some of the concerns expressed here of the...

Proposal: Reimbursements For Acquisition And Setup Of Dashtalk

OK. I see what you are saying. Here's what I will do. I'll check the each of the folks that are owed funds to see how long they are willing to wait to get paid back and whether or not they are comfortable taking the risk that they will "make the cut" for the next two or three months. Right now...

Proposal: Reimbursements For Acquisition And Setup Of Dashtalk

That wouldn't actually solve anything. If I were to split out over two payments, that would only free up ~518 Dash more this month. It would still be short with only 719 Dash available after I split it, whereas the Evolution in marketing is for 775.

Proposal: Dash.org purchase - December Payment Replacement

Other than ongoing budgets "core-team" and "Public awareness", there were no other multi-month budgets which were affected. Everything else was a one-payment budget item which would have been resubmitted. The core team just didn't get paid that month, and P.A. missed a payment. No need to make...

    Prioritization of fiat gateways

AnarchicCluster, I beat you to it! Now we just need a vote to see if this voting thing is a good idea!:tongue:

    Prioritization of fiat gateways

OR we could just issue a 5 Dash "decision" proposal that says "should we redirect the funds?". That would also be a risk-free approach to getting network consensus without the need for a risky downvote. EDIT: It is clear to me that most community members are supportive of the redirect... this...

    Prioritization of fiat gateways

Maybe we should put it to a vote whether we should proceed with the downvote? Give it 24 hours to see the level of participation. It would be a great proxy to see how many MN downvotes we would be able to get quickly. If the number of downvotes we would get quickly is enough to ensure Pub...

Proposal: Dash.org purchase - December Payment Replacement

buster , if you have an alternative approach that you feel is fair, please detail it. It sounds like you would prefer a system that values all fiat reimbursements at the time that the payment is finally made to the recipient, NOT like it is currently (at the time the proposal is submitted). How...

Proposal: Dash.org purchase - December Payment Replacement

Apologies if I'm still not being clear enough. I will attempt again. For a whole host of reasons, which are enumerated above, it is impractical for the network to assume exchange rate risks in its contracts. It is therefore the community member's risk that the currency may increase or decrease...

Proposal: Dash.org purchase - December Payment Replacement

This is my opinion, but I don't think prying into anyone's personal finances is in keeping with Dash's values. Nor, per my other posts, do I feel that it is even relevant how the expenses were funded. But I'd love to see what the community thinks. We have been consistent when Dash went down in...

Proposal: Dash.org purchase - December Payment Replacement

I would add that by the "value at time of payment" logic, it would be hugely advantageous for the network to simply delay paying back for expenses for a year and by then, it will owe the team members practically no Dash (assuming our value increases dramatically), but I think that illustrates...

Proposal: Dash.org purchase - December Payment Replacement

This same issue was raised over at Dashwhale, so I will copy / paste my responses that I gave over there: First, we have been and continue to be transparent about the overall approach we take to reimbursements... "You'll notice in every single core team budget we make the explicit statement...
