Proposal: Core Development - 12.2 DashDrive Developers (Oct)

This is a cross-post from https://dashcentral.org/p/crdev-dashdrv-201610 This proposal continues the monthly funding for DashDrive developers first approved in the August budget. See the original proposal here...

Questions from Community Members to DASH Core Team Members

@Solarminer Yes, with Bitcoin's congested network and infrequent blocks, I think 22 minutes probably happens a lot. With our blocks 4x more frequent and no where near as congested, I think the probability of waiting that long for a Dash transaction is extremely low right now. So I don't think...

Questions from Community Members to DASH Core Team Members

@Solarminer Thank you for your comments. I agree with one of your positions and disagree with another. I strongly agree that InstantSend is a critical feature that should be implemented at the ATM. It really is our killer feature and provides a far superior user experience compared to Bitcoin...

Proposal: Infrastructure - Liquidity Providers (Oct)

This is a cross-post from www.dashcentral.org/p/infra-lqd-pvd-201610 The liquidity provider team supports the network by providing liquidity for mixing on the network. Results for mixing on the network have resulted in dramatically shorter mixing times, which in the past could have taken as...

    Core Team Contractor Rules

So you are in favor of more allowed days off for sick purposes? The idea was, let people take the days for whatever they need / want them for... avoids the situation where contractors claim to be unavailable because they are "sick" whilst going Christmas shopping for the day.

    Core Team Contractor Rules

20 days off a year, when you include holidays and sick time, is very minimal. Here in the US, for example, you would normally get two weeks off, PLUS the normal holidays like Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving (and usually the day after), Christmas, New Years, President's Day, sometimes Good...

    Core Team Contractor Rules

That would be a stretch for a contractor... maybe if we moved to an employee model in the future (I think we would have to for employees under the law if someone is officially an employee and drawing a salary in many countries). For now, pretty much everyone is working for far less than they...

    Core Team Contractor Rules

EDIT: THIS INFORMATION IS OUTDATED AND DOESN'T REFLECT CURRENT POLICIES OF DASH CORE GROUP INC., PLEASE CONTACT THE HR DEPARTMENT FOR ACCURATE POLICY INFORMATION. In order to prevent any abuse or perceived abuse of the budget system, we wanted to post a few basic "rules" for any contractors...

    Proposal: Legal (Sept)

@moocowmoo I was having the same issue. And it only seems to be that post... It wouldn't allow me to quote it either and was crashing.

    Proposal: Legal (Sept)

Absolutely not. I think we explained well our reasoning for starting with the US market, but that doesn't mean we feel other markets are not equally important. It is just that the US market offers the most to gain from a legal opinion standpoint, and we have to prioritize and start somewhere.

    Proposal: Legal (Sept)

Interesting idea... however, I'd like to point out that even if a holder were to not sell any Dash, since masternode owners only receive 45% of the rewards, their share of the network slowly declines over time (as 55% is going to "someone else" like miners or contractors to the network). While...

    Proposal: Legal (Sept)

The "off the cuff" answer from the law firm is that a heavily unfavorable opinion is unlikely. For example, similar to the tor network, it's likely that (because masternode mixing can be used for either legal or illegal activity), as long as the MN operator is unaware of any illegal activity...

    Proposal: Legal (Sept)

I'm not sure they have a choice any more than they have a choice about the existence of any software they may find undesirable running on the internet. Like with Bitcoin, they may not like it, but they recognize they cannot stop it. So they do the next best thing, which is try to regulate the...

    Proposal: Legal (Sept)

Laws will apply to the individuals where they live, not where the server operating the masternode is located. My earnings in any other country are taxable in the United States. Also, exchanges located in the US are not going to move themselves to a friendlier locale in order to accept Dash. If...

    September 2016 Budget Report

The September budget cycle has seen a record number of proposals, and some fairly late in the cycle, but we appear to have a nearly complete budget. Below is an overview of September’s funding requests for the core team and community sponsored proposals that are currently passing. The next...

    Proposal: Legal (Sept)

Most don't directly address it at all and federal law dictates how they are treated in many states. There are exceptions like NY, that may have stricter regulations, but those would be addressed as well. Shake also has to deal with money transmitter laws, which ARE at the state level. That is...

    Proposal: Legal (Sept)

I don't think that's a likely outcome, nor would it be enforceable. Any KYC and AML regulations would likely only apply to the exchanges, and how they would need to operate to include Dash. For example, they may be required to treat daily limits or reporting differently for certain types of...

    Proposal: Legal (Sept)

I agree. We should seek to address these questions in major jurisdictions, which would help facilitate large and institutional investors entering. However, we can't afford to fund everything at once, so we need to prioritize. The U.S. is the largest single market and as noted in the proposal the...

    Proposal: Legal (Sept)

This is a cross-post from www.dashcentral.org/p/legal-201609 This proposal requests funding a defined set of legal questions we feel is critical to address as we seek to expand the Dash ecosystem and make Dash more accessible to investors. Last month, we submitted a proposal to donate the...

    Second Quarter 2016 Financial Report

In an effort to provide greater transparency to the Dash community on how funds are spent, we are providing this report covering Q2 2016. Going forward (starting with July's activities), we have subscribed to an accounting package that will make financial reporting much easier going forward, and...
