It is probably unrelated. After Vertoe explained the actual mechanism that p2pool uses to collect fees, it made more sense that it was actually functioning the way it was designed to. And everything has been working fine for more than 2 weeks, so I'm not going to change anything :)

Are you running a 32-bit OS? I did that, and it wrecked me. Type uname -a And see what you get. If it doesn't say "x64", it might be because you have a 32 bit system.

Also, regarding the security aspect: usually a server is run from the command line without the GUI because the GUI has additional code and therefore potentially additional vulnerabilities. Also, is there is no need to expend processing power on a GUI, why bother (for a server)? So it is true...

I agree about the color - I think the designer submitted a version in blue, and that's what we're going with. I really does look good in blue.

type ./darkcoind & the & at the end will tell it to run in the background (which it really does anyway). hit enter a time or two and you should get your prompt and cursor back.

Any idea why my windows qt wallet won't send 1000 DRK? It just states "transaction too large" regardless of whether or not I include a transaction fee. The QT wallet is 9.1.2 running on Windows Server 2008R2

You have more DOA because of the way p2pool works. Basically, p2pool creates an alternate blockchain that finds blocks much faster than the REAL blockchain, and then it compares the "fake" chain with the real chain to try to actually mine the block. You get more DOA because the p2pool...

Ha! I'm glad I stated this thread, then. I've learned something new. What a fascinating way to do it! So p2pool really doesn't have fees, per se - it's a whole different method of calculating it. That's probably something that could be better explained to the average miner (and some operators!)

I realize that... However, each time a block is found, a p2pool operator would get a fee (mine was set at 0.5%). The strange thing that happened was that although it was showing that the pool collected a 0.5% fee, it would not send the fees collected to the specified address. The address was...

After looking at a bunch of these, I think that the "\D" should stay on the coin, but the logo needs to have a regular D, like raze's. The slash D is a fine currency symbol, but it looks strange in the logo - I think it might be that slight feeling of "just a bit much" when I look at some of...
