The other way I've got it to sync is to use stable which syncs really quickly then swap to darksend version. Doesn't solve my problem though. I've a feeling it's new wallet time.
OSX qt seems to run a bit better in the latest version but still pretty laggy. Does it try and demoninate before it's synced? Would it not help to initiate denom once it's done syncing?
New version still wouldn't denominate. Trouble lies with me not having paid any fees yet I believe - first...
I have to say though.. I'd be a bit hesitant to add "portals" into the wallet. It being a privacy centric wallet the less external inputs the better. I think it should work really well/simply as a wallet.
Yeah it's mayhem in there at the moment.. I just pinged them because I know they'd immediately have the answer.
My only guess would be try
sudo chmod a+x /usr/local/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/xcoin_hash.so
and then run it
bigr you had other interesting points too. Particularly around your needs as a retailer. Staff payments etc.

I'm finding the osx version pretty unusable.. even after making sure denom was turned off the processing keeps exceeding 100% and hanging. This is my work machine which can plow through very labour intensive processes but even with just finder and the qt open it keeps hanging.
I've tried vs...
I think rather do the full ui upgrade properly but certainly add the information necessary for initial release so people don't freak out. eg. denomination round 1 in progess, round 1 denomination transaction fee, etc.
So if the whole balance is denominated after every transaction this will cost you transaction fees + denomination fees + take X hours to redenominate?
The fees sound reasonable for the large amounts you are using on test net but if you take it down to smaller balances - the amounts will reflect...
you can trade any of the coins they have for any other. So drk/bc drk/doge doge/ppc ppc/drk
*edit seems you can't exchange at the moment so maybe hold fire on this one*
