    December 2015 Budget Proposal

I believe the problem is that the threshold to get a yes vote passed is only 10%. Originally, we were asking for a supermajority. Something had to be really good to get everyone to agree. I think even a simple majority might not work without considerable advertising to vote. I would think a...

    December 2015 Budget Proposal

Well said. There is also an overlap with this video/dash.org proposals and the publicity budget. We should have more details on the publicity budget and how these funds are being spent. Personally, I trust what is getting done and don't want to bog down the team now with nit picky details. I...

    December 2015 Budget Proposal

I disagree. The initial proposal had vague descriptions. Public awareness for example has nothing specific for expenses or activities. I posted comments about this already. It may be that public awareness is difficult to publicize activities in advance due to competition. This latest set of...

FYI, I couldn't activate a masternode without the port 9998 forwarded. So I think you need the RPC and port forwarding to make it all work with more than one node on a server. I suppose it is possible that you could run a hot node without RPC, but that is risky.

    Introducing Our New Team Members

Awesome, Moocowmoo is now formally on the team! Android and E-commerce - good picks. Congrats and welcome.

Interesting.... So you can run a masternode without using the RPC stuff. I still need to use it for the Dashwhale notifier though. Not secure. Someone would need your user/password to to anything. And even then, what is the worst that could happen, they shutdown your masternode?

    V12 Release

Fyi, I logged the issue on github here: https://github.com/dashpay/dash/issues/646 I did another node move and it crashed/hung every time I tried to start with less than 25 confirms. Also added that to the issue.

Try to run 2 wallets on windows. It will say wallet is already running when you start the second. If you change ports in one dash.conf both will be able to start.

    IPV6 addresses

I thought if you run nodes with listen=1 it won't let you run 2 nodes at the same time with the same port (9999). IPV6 may be different, don't know.

    V12 Release

If you wait long enough between starting first node to second node(a day) it will just change the ip. Trying to start the other node before waiting for it to fall off will cause a crash. Kind of a musical chairs type thing. I also had a problem with key on the server node not matching the key...

    V12 Release

So you try to start your wallet. Masternode start-alias 2 password. The output is: Masternode start-alias 2 password The debug box is still open. Then if you close the debug box it says not responding would you like to close or wait. I clicked close. Then you have to close the wallet a...

P2P Exchange - Scala developers needed to help with code review and estimates

Thanks oaxaca for showing me this post. I asked a similar question on BTC talk about Coinffiene. Check out B&C Exchange. They have plans to accept Dash. They may have a usable release out by AE 1 (Anno Evolution = in the year of Evolution). www.bcexchange.org If we do a Dash...

    V12 Release

I had some trouble moving a masternode from one server to another. I guess I entered the same transaction address on two IPs. Tried to start node and it crashed the wallet. Can we do a check for existing transaction address/ip/key so it doesn't crash the wallet. Also add a notice that says...

    IPV6 addresses

Binding to an ipv6 then it looks like this should work. This is really good news since ipv4 addresses are running out. Thanks for investigating. If you want to run 2 or more nodes on the same server then you need to forward ports. For a VPS you can use iptables to move ports on ipv4...

    IPV6 addresses

Thanks for your config info. The reason for the bind ip, ports and the 6tunnel is if you want to run more than one node on a server. You can run 3 nodes on 1GB ram/1GB Swap, 7 nodes on 2GB/2GB. Typically, a VPS will give you only 1 or 2 ipv4 addresses and a bunch of ipv6. So you would have a...

So this works! Is this all you need for your configs? Server bindip=xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx externalip=xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:9999 Wallet 1 xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:9999 asdfasdfasdffasdf aasdfasdf 0 Then you should be able to use 6tunnel to forward the IPv6 9999 port to a different port on ipv4. VPS...

    V12 Release

Thanks. This time I think it messed up some of the files when it locked up. Removed the peers, mnbudget, etc on local and remote and she went. This error is predictable and happens with every new node for me.. - I am a little impatient at getting a new node going, so I try to start with a...

    V12 Release

I think there is a bug with starting up a masternode with an input with less than 25 confirmations. Previously, the wallet would nicely say you need 25 confirmations before you can start your masternode. Now the wallet just hangs and eventually says not responding. Once you have the 25...

    V12 Release

Excellent. No need to change config files. Just type keypoolrefill 10000. Takes about 5min. I am running a 100000 key wallet as a liquidity provider on mainnet. Do you want the liquidy providers to do some testing with the new version?
