    We hate random distribution!

Its very quiet for me too. I'm at about 0.35DRK per day for my five nodes. More bad actors than payments. If it wasn't for the nice looking charts I'd feel a bit miserable. I've said it loads recently but I'll say it again. What about people with one masternode? We need to be supporting...

Still haven't received an MN payment...

I just got first payment of 0.5DRK to a node that is 8 days old today. To be honest its so easy to get lost in a muddle of bad luck and setup error. I have tinkered with some of my nodes thinking there was something wrong when they were fine and vice versa. Just to repeat what has been said...

Still haven't received an MN payment...

Ok, so the miners (somehow) randomly vote for a masternode and when six votes are accumulated by a masternode you get paid 20% of that block? Or is it six simultaneous votes at the time of a block being solved?

Still haven't received an MN payment...

Yes, I believe that is what Evan said in Jira with regard to the consecutive payment issue.

Thanks yidakee. Silly question perhaps but who/what votes?

Still haven't received an MN payment...

Evan says that he is reverting to the RC3 voting mechanism when RC5 comes along. Unfortunately, I have yet to find somebody who can explain to me what this actually means. I figured that Evan has other stuff on his plate right now.

Still haven't received an MN payment...

I've only got a month's worth of data but I agree, masternodes are not being paid randomly.

Still haven't received an MN payment...

Oh and for what its worth, nothing beats the awesome feeling when one of your masternodes goes on a "lucky" streak and bags ten payments in a couple of days :) It does happen on occasion.

Still haven't received an MN payment...

Its really good to hear somebody else say it takes 8 days to start receiving payments. It has taken me some months to gain a zen like calm that there is nothing wrong with my masternode and that the payments will come one day. My older nodes always pay better than my newer ones. Hearing 8...

Hot wallet masternodes - are they that unsafe?

Wise advice. I set up quite a few hot wallet masternodes in testnet and it got me thinking about how much simpler the process is. I love your expression "ensure your passphrase never enters history". I shall apply that systematically and philosophically should I choose to run any hot nodes :)

    ec2 multiple remote nothing MN(max 5)

That is inclusive of traffic but the cost explorer doesn't say whether the figure includes tax or not. I assume it excludes tax. I think there is also a threshold where traffic is free...I've only been running this setup for a couple of weeks so lets see what happens over the month...

Hot wallet masternodes - are they that unsafe?

Hi, If somebody is running a masternode under the following conditions: Hot wallet on masternode server Wallet encrypted with 48+ random character/number passphrase All ports other than 9999 closed apart from 22 to own static IP when access is needed. Wallet backed up regularly. Bash cleared...

    ec2 multiple remote nothing MN(max 5)

Yup...$1.34 per day to run 5 masternodes on a t2.medium. I've got the some of the setup scripted now. Maybe I'll start a masternode share service :)

    ec2 multiple remote nothing MN(max 5)

Just a quick update on the cost of a T2.medium. I am paying $2.60 per day on average to run 5 masternodes on one T2.medium instance. I think this is good value for money. EDIT: I misspoke. That $2.60 includes the 6 testnet T1.micro spot instances that I'm running.

    Suggestion: Change the name

Agreed. Lets nip this in the bud. Dark doesn't imply nefarious or nasty. Lets just park this now and concentrate on getting RC5 out there.

    We hate random distribution!

I completely agree. I've relaxed into it now. However, what if you only have one masternode and you only get paid once or twice a month? That barely covers your costs. We're lucky in that we have enough masternodes to average out over time. Its not a fair system and ultimately one that harms...

    We hate random distribution!

One of my quiet nodes got a payment today which is reassuring. When I first started getting in to Darkcoin and Yidakee helped me set up some masternodes I really doubted that they were working properly because payments were supposed to be random and they didn't seem random to me. I tinkered...

    We hate random distribution!

I've got a nice Sunday planned in London today but what would really be nice is that when I get home and check my masternodes these ones will have got at least one payment each!
