From a selfish perspective I'm sad that the short period that we had where masternode owners were being paid as intended has already come to an end. I assume that he will stop being paid when pools update?

I actually had a dream last night (sad I know) that there was a darkcoin mandatory update mailing list which is sent out at times like these with clear instructions on who needs to do what. For example: This has happened and this is what people need to do: Masternode owners: Update to XX...

He has stated that he wasn't doing it for money. For somebody of sufficient intelligence and expertise to reveal this exploit I personally believe he wanted to make an impact, perhaps even harden the code rather than profit.

I feel that this has been quite an important milestone tbh. Evan...you're brilliant at what you do. But there are other brilliant people too. This is the whole point of going open source and the best thing is that we have a community to support a rapid reaction.
