    Ubuntu repository installs v12.0

I installed Dash Core per these instructions: https://docs.dash.org/en/latest/wallets/dashcore/installation-linux.html#using-the-ubuntu-repository-to-install-dash-core And a very old version was installed, which indicates that the Ubuntu repository is not being maintained. Either the...

    PrivateSend messages

"Submitted to masternode, waiting in queue..." "PrivateSend request incomplete. Session timed out. Will retry..." "PrivateSend is idle" My wallet seems to be mostly just cycling through these messages. When a session times out, does that mean, simply, that the masternode (network?) didn't have...

    Excellent PrivateSend documentation

For anyone who has PrivateSend questions, here is the place to start: https://docs.dash.org/en/latest/wallets/dashcore/privatesend-instantsend.html#privatesend I suggest a sticky post with a link to that documentation at the top of this forum.

    Dash Watch Renewal Pre-Proposal April 15 2018

I can’t speak for Dash Watch, but the Dash Bug Bounty program is fully funded to August 2019. We have a reserve that is held in Dash, which is subject to price fluctuations. When the price is relatively low, we are less active on the PR front, but the program continues to operate.

    Let's talk about Tether

It has become clear to me that the greatest hazard to all cryptocurrencies, including Dash, is the problem of Tether, and increasing dependence on Tether as a proxy for USD. Tether is worse than fiat and fractional reserve banking when it comes to false promises of fixed value. I'm especially...

    Exchange market

Beware of people with very little experience/posts making recommendations. Also be wary of new products/services without an established track record. I use and recommend kraken.com, however, I don't store any Dash or USD with them or any other exchange. Deposit, exchange, withdraw -- never hold...

Dash CEO Reveals How Crypto is Changing Lives in Venezuela and Zimbabwe

That made me smile. Long live decentralized currency! Some journalist/blogger referred to me as the "sheriff" of Dash because I operate a Dash bug bounty program. Makes me cringe. We just have to cringe and bear it, because people just can't get their head around decentralization.

    Dash Bug Bounty Program

Since my last update, there have been two substantial bounties that have been out through the Bugcrowd platform: $6,000 was paid to a researcher who discovered that the Dash Copay wallet could have it's PIN bruteforced by automating PIN attempts and resetting the device clock to bypass the...

    Dash Evolution Demo #3

Thank you for the clarification! I agree with your end-user focused team members. I think it is an edge case where a user receives instantly and turns around and wants to send the same funds instantly. No need for a progress bar 99% of the time. Just some kind of indicator perhaps in the...

confession from a former DASH maximalist

I think the development community will take a big interest in Dash when Dash's distributed API (DAPI) is published and give devs something to work on. I think that is where we are going to see a lot of innovation, especially when higher level language libraries are developed. As a PHP developer...

Problem with necroposting in Official Announcements

Necroposting in the Official Announcements forum is especially problematic when warnings from years ago are being dragged out of the grave. For example, "iOS Wallet Warning!" from 2016 is now on page 1 of Official Announcements. It took me a few minutes of extreme anxiety until I realized it...

    Dash Watch Renewal Pre-Proposal April 15 2018

I would like to endorse that sentiment. We don't want to micro manage projects by committee, or even worse, micro manage by public criticism. There is a concern I have with the Dash Watch project overall. The detailed financial reporting that is being sought seems to invite public micro management.
