Does HFT at Poloniex destroy value of DASH ???

I think when you say HFT you are refering to trading scripts aka Bots. Bots are not good or bad. The real danger is dishonest exchanges and unlevel playing fields. Front running, special order codes, volume commission discounts, hidden orders, and order reversals are just some of the tools...

Pre Proposal: Dash Across America Crypto Only Promotional Road Trip

Hey John, I've followed and enjoyed most of your podcasts since the first attempt at a Bitcoin Only trip. I think that the network should make an investment in this sponsorship opportunity - although the amount and method need some refinement. That's why we have pre-proposal discussions. I...

Do you see value in categorizing proposals as "core" or "community"? Why/why not?

What if I'm "community" but my proposal is generally disliked by the "community" and the "community" deals that I am misrepresenting them by claiming to be "community"? What if I'm "Core" but the reason that I'm making a proposal is because I can't get the rest of "core" to support me, so I'm...

Are masternode operators allowed to sell their votes?

The protocol has no opinion regarding what motivates your vote. So, YES you are "allowed". Could you prove your vote?... I suspect the answer is also yes. The economics of actually doing it would be interesting to figure out.

    Announcing: Decentralized Masternode Shares (forthcoming)

    1. MNs are desirable. Evidenced by the fact that people buy them (I own one) 2. MNs are expensive and -hopefully- will become more expensive over time. 3. People currently place there Dash at risk, using 3rd party services, just to own a piece of a MN. 4. Eventually, one or more of these...

    Announcing: Decentralized Masternode Shares (forthcoming)

Love it! I suggested the need for safe sharing on reddit/r/dashpay about a month ago and got flamed by a "Well Known" member here. I guess being Well Known is not equal to knowing well.

Many New Proposals are up - PLEASE VOTE !

Forcing people to vote does not cause the results that you are expecting to achieve. If voting was mandatory and carried some penalty for failure to vote, I would script up an auto-no or auto abstain so that I didn't loose anything.

How Does Dash's DAO Work? | DASH: Detailed

I'm part of the Amanda Army too "Dude, does your blockchain even pay its devs?". Was the line that caused me to start investigating Dash. Glad to have you as a spokesperson here.

What if The DAO invested in Dash?

I'd love to see the DAO put up a MN just for the publicity. What if we put up a bounty via the GBBC-MN vote to subsidize ONE node for the DAO? Say 50 Dash? 100?

    getting close :-)

Masternode voting is one of the key factors behind the decision to diversify from pure Bitcoin to Bitcoin+Dash. I have not yet voted on anything, but I surely will. :-)

Update: I've had my node for 2 weeks and 3 days. Been paid twice already. Love'n Dash! Many thanks for everyone's help, especially @splawik21 who provided hosting and answered tons of Noob questions.

    getting close :-)

I have 975 Dash... just 25 more and I'll be setting up my very own MN. One question: How to guess how much fee will be needed to move 1000 Dash from paper wallet to the staking address? Thanks PS - sorry if this is not the right place to ask. I'm still finding my way around the Dash World.

If you are new to Dash (like me) and made a paper wallet this year, read this advisory

https://dashtalk.org/threads/security-advisory-for-paper-dash-org.8525 I just noticed it yesterday, so I thought I would cross-post it here since this is where I usually watch for DASH news.

We should reduce the cost of proposals.

What if the cost stayed the same ( or even increesed ) but there were 2 vote thresholds instead of one? First threshold = return of submission fee. Second threshold = proposal approved. SPAM proposals would not even get the fee back.
