Why surprisingly? IMO the FAQ explains quite well, why the 4k and 10k solutions are superior. And 2 or 3 very loud voices here on the forum absolutely don't represent any majority.

IMHO you're completely wrong. You can modify the software, promote it, ask other MNOs to run your version, and so on. And every single MNO is free to do that.

This is just your interpretation. And actually a quite negative interpretation. You cannot know it. You don't know the number of Dash users, of forum users, of MNOs, and you don't know neither the number of silent persons in each of these 3 groups. But you know the facts: there are about 4 or 5...

Who are "we all"? I guess, that you speak about 4-5 individuals here on the forum. But there are certainly some hundreds of MNOs, and even more Dash users. Yes, because only a vote will really show, if, and how much we all are divided. P.S.: I've only 1k, but I'll vote for the 10k-HPMN...

Without an additional collateral for the HPMNs, almost all MNs (because hardware is cheap and gets cheaper every day) would switch to HPMNs with the already mentioned downsides.

This is just an example. You could also say 45% / 40% / 5% / 10%, or whatever...

Some further thoughts: 1.) Issue with stopping quorum: It seems, that the impact of a stopping quorum is not so dramatic, since the devs voted for the 4k-HPMN solution (highest chance to be able to stop a quorum). That means, that a high collateral is not a big requirement. 2k should be enough...

Sorry, I don't understand/find the answers. For how long: perhaps maximum 24h, because this is the maximal duration of the quorum? Impact: perhaps no impact at all, because there are 23 other quorums, that could to the job? Self-correct: perhaps yes, after one hour (new quorum appears), or yes...
