Evonode quick start guide

there is a button in my account "RENEW" can she help?
No. Dashmate needs to do the cert renewal or the first cert generating (in case of new zero ssl account) through Zero SSL api key and then dashmate will store the cert files on your server. You really need to look at your cert slot and how to interpret it.

Dear Qwizzie and Xkcd,
I invited a friend who is very knowledgeable on computers. He tried some things, but in the end, he played around with the protx register_evo string (adding quotes etc.) until the transaction went through! We still have not figured out what went wrong with all the previous strings and attempts to do the protx register_evo command. In any case: the Evo node is now synchronizing. Fingers crossed. I want to thank the both of you profusely for your time and kind help. Lessons learned: the Protx register_evo string is very finnicky! Thank you for helping out. Really appreciate it. I don't know where Dash is heading, but I will keep at it until the bitter end (hopefully the ending will be sweet though).

Dear Qwizzie and Xkcd,
I reveived my first payout from my evo masternode. Strangely, the payout amount was the same as with a regular masternode: 0.89 dash. The evo masternode is running and is recognized as an evo node by the network. Still the payount amount does not match. What is going on here?

0.89 is the core reward. but there is still a separate platform reward. you can watch it on the website https://platform-explorer.com/ finding himself among the validators... reward is paid every epoch (9 days) and you can transfer it to your wallet using DashMasternodeTool

also on this site you can observe the work of your evonode

and you can transfer it to your wallet using DashMasternodeTool
Small correction : Dash Evo Tool

@Bitterender --> https://github.com/dashpay/dash-evo-tool (read the readme and use the documentation link in the readme as well). You need to start a Dash Core full node wallet through Dash Evo Tool (DET) by clicking on the red traffic light in DET. Dash Core wallet needs to setup a certain way (adjusted dash.conf), to properly communicate with DET. And both are full desktop applications.
Personally i have setup DET and Dash Core wallet in Windows 10.

Adjusted dash.conf for your Dash Core wallet :

rpcport=9998
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1/32
rpcuser=dashrpc
rpcpassword=password
server=1
zmqpubhashchainlock=tcp://0.0.0.0:23708
zmqpubrawtxlocksig=tcp://0.0.0.0:23708

Leave everything like this in your dash.conf and when you download DET (Windows binaries) and extract (everything) and install it, you should have no problem. I have two seperate folders, one for Dash Core wallet and one for Dash Evo Tool.
In DET go to Network and use advanced settings to point to your Dash Core wallet and to have your dash.conf overwritten.

Start sequence : first start DET, click on red traffic light, this will start your Dash Core wallet, wait for full sync, start using DET iaw guide / documentation.

Dear Qwizzie and Tfoto,
Thanks a lot. I will do some reading up on the subject. If I understand correctly, the evo payout is not made to my wallet payout address?

That is correct! You have to fetch it manually after each epoch. You can see the balances of all Evonodes on this nifty page. It also shows the withdrawals.

the payment of the platform remains on the platform and depending on which key you will use, you can transfer funds either to your wallet for payment or to any wallet...

Hi guys,
My Evo node has been running now for a while without any problems. Received a couple of credits, so there is now a balance on my Evo node. I want to transfer some of this to my Dash core wallet. Installed Dash Evo Tool. Configured it and it is now connected to my wallet. However: I am stuck on "create / load" an identity on the Dash Evo Tool. I created an identity and funded it with 0.5 Dash. This shows up in my Dash core wallet as "watch only transaction" (blue eye). So far so good, but I cant seem to load an identity using the Dash Evo Tool. I filled in the "protx hash" but am stuck on the "alias" and the "owner private key" fields. What to do here? Please point me to a way I can extract this address form the console. Also: where do I get the "alias"? Dash Masternode Tool is not working for me. Did everything using Dashmate and Dash core wallet. So please point me in the right way. Thanks a lot!

You need to claim your username as there is an Evonode Voting period. @xkcd

You are on the wrong path, there is no need to create an identity or fund anything, all you need to do is download the DET v0.8 or better, go to the identities screen and put your protx hash in the identity, change the dropdown to evonode and then enter the payout private key in the field labelled as such, ignore all the other fields and and press the load identity button. Then, you can withdraw to any address by clicking on withdraw next to the identity and giving it the amount you want and the address to send it to, it will be confirmed after one block.

@Bitterender Or add the Owner Address private key, but then you can only withdrawal to your registered payout address. With latest DET release the withdrawals through Owner Addresss will fully work again.

To get the Owner Address private key either fetch it from DMT (Dash Masternode Tool) if it was created by DMT (most likely scenario) or give command dumppriv key of your Owner Address in Console of your Dash Core wallet, if your Owner Address was created in the Dash Core wallet.
Per default the withdrawals are set to withdrawals through the private key of the payout address (keyID :0 Purpose Transfer), if you want to withdrawal through Owner Address private key you need to switch it to KeyID : 1 Purpose Owner in Dash Evo Tool.

Knipsel.JPG

Withdrawals through payout address private key --> Transfers --> To any wallet address
Withdrawals through owner address private key --> Owner --> To registered payout address

You can add them both (both private keys) during the load of your Evonode, if you want that flexibility.

Dear XKCD,
Thanks for helping out. Did follow your instructions: Put the protx hash in the identity field and the payout private key. Pressed enter. Within a second or two, the DET program shuts down completely. Like it is a bug or something. I can start the DET up again after that, but nothing happened. No change.

How about deleting that Evonode identity in DET and loading it again with protx hash (identity set to Evonode) and the private key ? Another crash ? And are you sure you have the private key of your payout address, not the public key ? (DMT stores both)

If you keep getting DET crashes, then maybe check your det.log for errors.

Dear Qwizzie,
Did not see any log file. There are no identities in DET, only a wallet that I created. Still crashes unfortunately. I did put the private addresses in.

Load Identity
Identity type : Evonode

Add :

Protx hash of your Evonode
Private key of your payout address in field 'Payout Address Private Key'

Press Load Identity button (you need to have green light on top next to 'Identities' for this to work).

Crash ? Or okay now ?

Unfortunately, crashes within seconds. Checked everything: private key, protx hash, green light. Everything checks out. I am at a loss here. Any idea where the log file should be? Maybe that will help?

It should be in your application directory path, see https://www.dash.org/forum/threads/evonode-quick-start-guide.55214/page-3#post-241158
For Windows it is inside the config folder --> C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Roaming\Dash-Evo-Tool\config (i created a shortcut to it on my Windows desktop).

A few more things to check :

* running latest DET version 0.8.1 --> https://github.com/dashpay/dash-evo-tool/releases/tag/v0.8.1
* running latest Dash Core wallet version (at least v22.1.0 or very recently released v22.1.1 --> https://github.com/dashpay/dash/releases/tag/v22.1.1)
* running both Dash Core wallet & DET in a (not virtualized) full desktop environment (Linux / MAC / Windows)
* try loading your Evonode identity with protx hash and your private key of your voting addresss instead, does that crash DET too ?

Use following link to get invited to Discord : https://discord.gg/hJQbHcZc http://staydashy.com/ and search for channel
#evo-tools-usernames (under section 'Development)', where you can ask Paul DeLucia why your DET is consistently crashing, when trying to load your Evonode identity with protx hash and private key of your payout address. You can also provide him with information from your det.log
